Seaweed and Sand was founded in 2001 by Managing Director and specialty retail consultant Geoff Newlyn. Geoff has had 15yrs experience in specialty retailing and was director and co-owner of the Australian Geographic chain of retail stores taking the concept from inception to 43 stores nationally.
The first Seaweed and Sand store opened at Hornsby Westfield in NSW in Sept 01. Since then, the group has expanded rapidly and is commencing a national rollout via a franchise network.
